LINCOLN — A Nebraska emergency response team specializing in communications has been deployed to help North Carolina in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Gov. Jim Pillen said Monday.

The four-member Telecommunicator Emergency Response Team (TERT) left Friday for Buncombe County and is expected to return home in 14 days. That county is one of the hardest hit from the storm.
