Blustery this evening, sunny and pleasant to finish out the work week

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – After a warm and breezy day, the tide will turn overnight starting with blustery north winds this evening. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph before midnight in the wake of a cold front that will continue to press southeast this evening. There are some clouds associated with the front that will stream from west to east this evening. We are not going to see and moisture falling from these clouds as the atmosphere over the area is too dry for rain. However, as the front pushes further southeast, it will encounter an atmosphere with more moisture. Can’t rule out a brief shower or thunderstorm in far southeast Nebraska later this evening. As the winds lighten up and skies clear overnight, temperatures will tumble quickly into the 30s and 40s.
