HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Well, folks, get ready for a wet go at it this evening through the first half of your Saturday as lots of rain is on the way. And you may be surprised at how much you will get. Already seeing moderate to heavy rain early this evening in southwest Nebraska with light rain spreading north into the Tri-Cities area. The rain will continue to spread northward tonight with some of the heaviest rain moving in through the evening hours. Tonight is when most of the rain will fall for the majority of the area. Most should see a pretty good soaking through the night. Some locations in south central and southwest Nebraska could pick up as much as an inch and half. Rainfall totals will be less to the north and east. The chance of rain will continue into tomorrow morning as an upper level low pressure begins to lift north out of Oklahoma into Northern Kansas. The low will lift north and then northeastward Saturday into Saturday night across our area. There will still be some hit-or-miss showers through the day, but the chance will decrease through the day on Saturday. The best chance of a more steady rain will be wrapping counter-clockwise around the low. Showers will linger into Saturday night in North Central and Northeast Nebraska, continuing to lift to the northeast. Conditions will dry out Saturday night into Sunday morning from southwest to northeast. Clouds will also begin to clear out late Saturday night into Sunday morning. Before the clearing, Saturday will be another cool day with highs in the mid 40s to mid 50s. Nights will be warm enough that no snow is expected across the Local4 viewing area.
