LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – One more round of morning fog “should” give way to partly cloudy skies later in the day on Saturday… A weak weather system sliding across Nebraska has helped clear skies in western parts of the state…while keeping the eastern-half of Nebraska under a canopy of clouds and fog. This front has also generated some light rain showers at times. Patchy areas of dense fog are expected to re-develop over parts of central and eastern Nebraska again Friday night into Saturday morning…but as the day goes along we expect to see increasing amounts of sunshine from west-to-east across 10-11 Country. Some cloudiness will spill across the region again Saturday night into Sunday morning…but plenty of sunshine will return for Sunday afternoon. Most of the upcoming weekend looks quite pleasant (after that Saturday morning fog gives way !)…with mainly dry conditions and milder temperatures expected both days. We will then quickly turn our attention to a potential weather-maker for Monday…with this system expected to bring both rain and snow to parts of Nebraska. It’s a little early for specifics…but what starts as a rain event could change over to a snow event for some…especially across northern and northeastern Nebraska. Following the precipitation on Monday will be a transition to seasonably chilly weather as we ring in 2025.
