Arctic Chill Grips Nebraska with Snow and Freezing Temperatures

As Nebraska braces for an extended cold snap, residents should prepare for light snow and frigid temperatures, the National Weather Service stated. Tonight, a slight chance of snow will affect eastern North Central Nebraska, with up to half an inch expected. The coldest temperatures are forecast for central and eastern Nebraska, where highs on Friday through Tuesday will remain in the teens and 20s. Snow accumulation is possible Saturday into Sunday, particularly east of Highway 83, where light snow and freezing drizzle could create hazardous conditions. Arctic high pressure from Canada will keep temperatures below average until mid-week, with a possible warm-up by Wednesday.
