HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Overnight, we’ll see increasing clouds from the northwest as the next system moves in to the area. A surface trough will turn out winds out of the northwest late tonight into tomorrow morning. Those winds will become fairly blustery as the day goes on. Some of the strongest winds will come during the afternoon. Meanwhile, a band of light snow will move across the area from northwest to southeast. This does not look like much of a snow event as snow accumulations will only amount to a few tenths to maybe a half of an inch. However, with gusty winds tomorrow afternoon, areas of blowing snow are expected which will reduce visibility on the road ways. Some wind gusts could blow as strong as 30 to 40 mph. High temperatures tomorrow will be warmer than today in the 30s for most locations. The snow showers will move out Thursday evening and skies will gradually clear up overnight. Low temperatures will be chillier than Thursday morning as they fall back into the mid 10s west to the mid 20s east. Sunshine returns Friday, although eastern spots may find themselves in the shadow of some clouds that remain. Highs temperatures will return to the 30s on Friday for most with some 20s in Northeast Nebraska.
