ELKO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Nevada Department of Transportation will receive $28 million for railway corridor improvements near Elko. The funding comes from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and will go towards designing and construction of improvements on the Union Pacific Railroad Overland Route at the Elko Yard to enhance safety, capacity, and efficiency for local economic development.
