The State Treasurer’s Office is working to return missing money to Nevadans as part of National Unclaimed Property Day. According to the Nevada State Treasurer’s Office, nearly 33 million people across the United States has some amount unclaimed property. The office adds, in the Silver State 1 in every 7 in residents have unclaimed property. This property can come from unpaid life insurance benefits, forgotten bank accounts, and unused rebate cards.
