Powderchasers: 24 INCHES IN 24 HOURS- STORM RECAP

Some incredible snow totals are coming from the southern mountains of Nevada, and northern Arizona that spread north to the Wasatch in Utah. Arizona Snowbowl reported 24 inches on Wednesday morning and opened all lifts.

Meanwhile, at Lee Canyon just 1 hour from Vegas someone hit the jackpot with 33 inches in 48 hours and 69 inches in 7 days. Lee Canyon was closed for both April 6th and 7th and is planning to open on Thursday. They had an unfortunate inbounds avalanche on Monday with no injuries reported.

The action spread east into the San Juan range Wednesday with Wolf Creek reporting 21 inches as of late Wednesday. The Wolf just passed 200 inches for the season. Purgatory webcams showed around 9 inches with even less north to Telluride.

Meanwhile, the Wasatch Range benefited initially with S, SW flow Tuesday with Sundance nabbing 15 inches and it’s still snowing on Wednesday evening.

The models from Wednesday night to Thursday are showing another decent fetch of snowfall for Arizona Snowbowl, and the San Juan Range in Colorado. Telluride can do well with NW winds and may also sneak up some good totals. Further north, the I-70 corridor should grab moderate snowfall totals with Aspen, Steamboat, and perhaps Vail Pass seeing the highest amounts (5-10). The below map shows additional snowfall through Friday morning.
