Local Nevadan raises awareness to find a cure for dementia after losing his father

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Dementia cases continue to rise nationwide. Similar to Alzheimer’s, doctors have yet to find a cure. Frontotemporal degeneration, also known as FTD, is a group of disorders that occur when nerve cells in the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain are lost. This causes the lobes to shrink. Patients experience behavioral, personality, language and movement changes.
