Nevada Democrats deliver delegates at DNC in Chicago; Cortez Masto set to speak tonight

LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — Nevada Democrats executed their roles Wednesday at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, with state party Chair Danielle Monroe-Moreno delivering Nevada’s support to Kamala Harris.

“Nevada is the most diverse battleground state in the country,” the text of Monroe-Moreno’s prepared speech said.

“Home of the late great Senator Harry Reid, the ONLY Latina to ever serve in the U.S. Senate, Catherine Cortez Masto, and the first and ONLY women-majority state legislature.

“As Nevada’s first Black woman Chair, I proudly deliver the Silver State’s 48 votes to the next president of the United States, Kamala Harris!” Monroe-Moreno said.

Cortez Masto was scheduled to speak just before 9 p.m. CDT (7 p.m. PDT).

The traditional roll call at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago turned into a boisterous dance party , with each delegation announcing their votes for presidential nominee Kamala Harris to a fitting song. Nevada’s delegates were delivered as “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers played.
