LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — Jennifer Atlas, a Democrat running for Nevada Senate District 5, appeared on the 8 News Now Daily Voting Guide to discuss her platform, focusing on education, health care, and housing issues.
When asked about her campaign approach in a district where nonpartisan voters outnumber both Democrats and Republicans, Atlas emphasized the importance of staying consistent with her message.
“I have personally knocked… on over 8,000 doors since the beginning of this cycle,” Atlas said. “I’m talking to people, I’m meeting them where they’re at… We have to do better for our children, we have to get our schools where they need to be… and we just need to make sure that all families are lifted up.”
Atlas, who has a child in the Clark County School District (CCSD), expressed frustration over ongoing challenges in the school system.
“My goal is to make sure that we are holding CCSD accountable,” she said. “We need to make sure that we can lower class sizes and make sure that we have a qualified teacher in every single classroom.”
