Southern Nevada Weather Update: Warm, Dry Weekend Ahead, Cooler Temperatures, Winds Expected

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued its latest area forecast, indicating warm and dry conditions will persist through Sunday under high pressure. Las Vegas could see temperatures rise close to 90 degrees, with a 25 percent chance of reaching that mark on Sunday.

As the weekend progresses, residents can expect calm weather until Sunday night when winds will begin to pick up. Enhanced southwesterly winds will develop ahead of a low-pressure system moving in from the Gulf of Alaska, particularly affecting San Bernardino, Clark, and Mohave counties, with gusts potentially reaching 40 mph in higher terrains.

However, valleys and low-lying areas are forecasted to experience gusts below 40 mph, making a Wind Advisory unnecessary at this time. The forecast anticipates a significant change in weather starting Monday, with much cooler temperatures, increased winds, and a chance of rain and mountain snow through Tuesday. Quieter weather is expected to return midweek, with below-normal temperatures likely through the following weekend.
