Democrat Jacky Rosen reelected to US Senate in Nevada, Edison Research projects

(Reuters) – Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen won reelection to the U.S. Senate in Nevada, Edison Research projected on Friday, keeping a competitive seat in her party’s control.

Rosen, 67, beat Republican candidate Sam Brown, a U.S. Army veteran who received a Purple Heart after being wounded by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

The seat was a top priority for Republicans to flip. Nevada has a large Hispanic population, a traditionally Democratic demographic where Republican former President Donald Trump and his party have been making significant inroads.
