Ferocious winds forecast to hit Southern Nevada; Speeds could hit 60 MPH in some areas

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the Las Vegas area, effective Monday from 4 PM to midnight.

Strong southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts exceeding 60 mph, are expected in the Spring Mountains, including Kyle Canyon, Lee Canyon, and Red Rock Canyon.

The powerful winds may create hazardous travel conditions, particularly on US 95, and could cause damage to trees and power lines in the region.

Drivers on US 95 may face hazardous crosswinds. Power lines and trees could also be damaged in the area. Stay safe and plan accordingly, the NWS stated.
