LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — Nevada will get more than $15 million to help low income residents pay their heating and cooling bills in 2025, according to a Thursday announcement from Democratic U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.).
The funding is from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and will be awarded through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
LIHEAP helps low income families pay their energy bills. In addition, the program can prevent energy shutoffs, restore services, make energy-related home repairs, and make homes more energy efficient.
Nevadans interested in applying for energy assistance through LIHEAP can visit www.energyhelp.us or call (866) 674-6327. A page listing resources in Nevada is at https://liheapch.acf.hhs.gov/profiles/Nevada.htm , and includes a list of 14 places in Southern Nevada where you can get assistance .
“Lowering costs is one of my top priorities, and I’m proud to see these funds I helped secure coming into Nevada to help working families afford their energy bills,” Cortez Masto said. “I’ll continue fighting in the Senate to ensure Nevadans have access to this lifeline.”
