Nevada’s population boomed in the 1990s, with a dramatic reshaping of its cities and economy.
In 1987, the Silver State reached a major milestone by passing the 1 million population mark.

Clark County contributed the largest portion, accounting for 73% of the overall increase. Washoe County followed with 12% of the increase. The rest was spread across the other 15 counties.
Nevada’s population sat at about 3.24 million in 2023, according to a state report. See where the state’s headed next.
