According to a report from Conserve Wildlife Foundation and N.J. Fish and Wildlife’s Endangered and Nongame Species Program, the state’s bald eagles logged a successful 2023. Larissa Smith, senior wildlife biologist with CWF, said 286 nest sites were monitored last year, and of these, 155 pairs were active – meaning the female laid eggs – which is an increase of five active nests from 2022.
