N.J. priest turns 102 – and is still on the job

The oldest Catholic priest in New Jersey’s largest diocese is continuing to assist at Masses and hear confessions, church officials said. Monsignor James C. Turro turned 102 on Jan. 26. He has presided over more than 900 baptisms and 400 weddings since becoming a priest in 1948, according to the Archdiocese of Newark.
