An issue advocacy group run by Montclair Mayor Sean Spiller is up on the air with a massive $500,000 cable TV and digital ad buy touting the virtues of democracy. Spiller, the president of the New Jersey Education Association, the state’s largest public employee union, is mulling a bid for the Democratic nomination for governor in 2025. He leads Protecting Our Democracy, a 501(c)(4) non-profit.
