A bill that would provide support for employees grieving the loss of a child or facing the emotional challenges as a result of an unsuccessful adoption or fertility treatments cleared the Assembly. Bill A3505, sponsored by Assemblymembers Shanique Speight, William B. Sampson, and Garnet R. Hall would allow employees to take bereavement leave under specific circumstances. This bill would apply to employees who are eligible for leave under the Family Leave Act.
