Resurfaced body cam footage shows a confrontation Ice-T had with police in May in New Jersey during a traffic stop.
The Law & Order star was pulled over for driving his Porsche 911 without a front license plate ( required in both New Jersey & New York ). After the officer pulled over the actor, the police officer discovered the license and registration for the car had been expired since 2021. The video appears to show the exchange of the officer confronting Ice-T about the expired plates.
It begins with Ice-T sitting calmly in his car as the officer runs his license plate number. When asked why the plates are so expired, Ice-T says he was on his way to the Department of Motor Vehicles to rectify the issue. “That’s what I’m going,” Ice-T tells the officer. The officer isn’t satisfied with that answer and questions why the vehicle has been expired for so long. Ice-T then tells the officer, “I went yesterday,” but says he ran into problems at the DMV that prevented the registration from being renewed.
