Winter storm is moving across the state

A large winter storm arrived today, bringing widespread rain and snow across the state. Most activity across southern and eastern New Mexico will wrap up this evening, with snow flurries sticking around across the northern and western high terrain overnight and into early Saturday. The storm will be departing Saturday, allowing wraparound moisture to bring more heavy rain to northeastern New Mexico, with heavy snow over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Raton Pass throughout the afternoon and evening. Winter Storm Warnings are in effect, where 1-2 feet of snow is possible across the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
