Most of the state will remain dry, seasonable, and cloudy early this afternoon before the first in a series of storms impacts New Mexico through the rest of the week. High elevation snow and low elevation rain will arrive to western and northern New Mexico late tonight and continue into early Wednesday. A stronger line of rain/snow will develop over western New Mexico Wednesday morning, pushing east across the state throughout the day along a powerful cold front. The front will pick up winds, with gusts 25-45 mph statewide. Eastern New Mexico will see rain and maybe a few storms, mountains will see snow, and valley locations will see spotty showers. High temperatures will be 5-10° cooler than today.
