First Black state legislator to be honored at Roundhouse

For Lenton Malry, breaking color barriers to become the first African American state legislator in New Mexico was just one of many firsts. Malry successfully ran as a state representative in the 1969 election. He was re-elected to four more terms over the span of his career in politics. However, Malry left his mark in several other career paths over the course of his career.
