After a powerful winter storm brought widespread snow across the state this past weekend, much drier and warmer conditions are on the way this week. This morning is freezing statewide even with clear and dry weather. Temperatures will warm to slightly below average for mid February across the state. Many places across New Mexico won’t see a single cloud in the sky all day long.

Westerly winds will return this week, ushering in drier and quieter conditions. This will allow temperatures to gradually warm through the mid to late week. Tuesday will be seasonable statewide, while Wednesday will be above average. Breezy to windy conditions will pick up Wednesday and Thursday, especially along and east of the Central Mountain Chain. Above average highs will stick around through Friday. Plenty of sunshine with dry conditions will persist all week long. A pretty boring work week of weather is ahead across New Mexico, so get out and enjoy this little taste of spring while it lasts.
