EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — New Mexico State Police issued 700 traffic citations and made 19 arrests, five of them for felonies, during a five-hour statewide traffic operation on Thursday, Feb. 15, the agency announced.
The operation focused “on speeding and unsafe driving practices on roadways across the state,” according to a news release sent out by New Mexico State Police.
In addition to the traffic citations and arrests, New Mexico State Police also conducted 50 inspections of commercial vehicles and cited three trucks for left-lane violations.
