A traditional Cochiti potter whose work spans more than a dozen media, Ortiz’s monumental artistic practice carries the Pueblo Revolt of 1680 into the future, asking questions about historical memory and consciousness, Indigenous futurisms and pedagogy, and Indigenous agency in the face of settler colonialism.
