Cooler and Rainier weather coming tomorrow

Active weather is picking up across New Mexico today. It will be lasting through the weekend.

A backdoor cold front will be making its way through New Mexico this evening. This front will be bringing strong wind gusts and much cooler temperatures. Due to these expected conditions the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for parts of central New Mexico and a Freeze Watch for parts of the Northern Mountains. Both of these will be in place through the early morning of Wednesday October 16th. The cold front will also bring a few isolated storms to western and northern New Mexico Wednesday.

Another storm system will be forming to our west later this week. Ahead of this system moisture will be brought up into New Mexico. Resulting in widespread rain on Thursday. There is also a possibility for burn scar flooding on Thursday as well.

The next storm system will solidify as a low pressure by Friday. This low will send a Pacific cold front through New Mexico Friday evening. The low will also bring widespread rain to New Mexico on Friday and Saturday. Storms on Saturday have the potential to be severe.
