Warm end to the week with another storm on the way

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A cold front yesterday night successfully cooled off temperatures across New Mexico today. The cold front has completely moved out of the state and is now over Texas.

These cool temperatures will not be lasting very long. A high pressure system is forming to the southeast of New Mexico. This high pressure will strengthen and continue to move eastward through Friday. This high pressure system will bring clear and sunny skies to New Mexico. The high pressure will also cause rising temperatures through Friday. Temperatures on Friday will be above seasonal averages.

A low pressure system will begin to make its way to New Mexico on Friday. This storm system will move into New Mexico by Sunday. The low will draw up excess moisture across the state. This will lead to widespread rain chances on Sunday and Monday. More snow is also possible this weekend. The snow will likely be isolated to the higher mountain elevations.
