Low pressure system brings rain tonight

Rain is moving into New Mexico tonight and will be lasting through Monday. Snow is expected in higher elevations.

A low pressure system moved into the Great Basin on Friday. Through the day today this low pressure system has tracked south and settled over the Baja. Over tonight and tomorrow the low will begin to move into New Mexico.

Ahead of this next movement, the low is drawing up moisture into New Mexico. This moisture will bring rain back to the state as soon as tonight. The rain late tonight could reach as far north as the Albuquerque Metro.

The heaviest rainfall will come on Sunday. The rain will be constant all today tomorrow. The heaviest rainfall will be in the southeast and eastern New Mexico. The heavy rainfall will begin in the afternoon and last through the night.

On Monday, the low pressure system will be directly over southeast New Mexico. The low will lift out of New Mexico and towards the Midwest by Monday evening. The rain following the low will stick around eastern New Mexico through Monday evening.
