NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Northeasterly gusty winds are bringing colder air from the Northeast Highlands to the Pecos River Valley this morning with below-freezing temperatures for the northern two-thirds of the region with mostly clear skies and dry air. Bitterly cold air is once again present in the San Luis Valley to the Enchanted Circle as air temperatures are in the single digits to low teens for some areas, while most areas are experiencing air temperatures in the teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, and even the 50s from north to south from high to lower elevation as colder air is starting to arrive higher up in the atmosphere, but most valley areas, other than the East Highlands, are starting off milder.
