A Christmas Day storm that has brought spotty snow and rain along with wind will be moving out of New Mexico tonight. Cooler air sticks around into the end of the week.
A storm today has been bringing spotty rain and snow showers to the northern half of New Mexico. This storm will continue to move east across the state overnight. A few light snow showers and flurries will continue across the northern mountains, with spotty showers in eastern New Mexico through early Thursday morning. Drier weather returns Thursday afternoon with temperatures hovering closer to average for this time of year. A weak weather disturbance will again bring some very light snow Thursday evening through early Friday morning across the northern mountains, with spotty showers in western New Mexico.
A warming trend begins statewide Friday. This warming trend with dry weather will continue through this upcoming weekend and into next Monday, when high temperatures will be well-above average for this time of year. Winds will also pick up with this warmer weather, especially Monday afternoon. A cold front will move into the state Monday night, bringing another drop in temperatures heading into the last day of 2024.
