ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — $30 million will go towards supportive housing funding for older adults, survivors of domestic and gender-based violence, veterans, chronically homeless families, and people with mental illness or substance use disorder in New York State. The State Office of Mental Health administers this grant through the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative.

Funding can be used for rental assistance and services for eligible people to ensure their access to stable housing. This includes rental and living costs, services and staff to find eligible people who need housing, primary and behavioral health services, employment training, and children’s services like support and counseling.
