George Santos was on hand with Mediaite founder Dan Abrams on NewsNation on Tuesday evening to offer his insight and predictions into the New York special election race to replace him.
The former New York congressman, who was expelled from Congress in December, predicted a victory by Mazi Pilip , the Republican Party nominee and a Nassau County Legislator, though he mostly brushed off the differences between Pilip and her Democratic opponent, Tom Suozzi .
“I’ll tell you this, whichever way you look at it, a Democrat’s replacing me. They’re both registered Democrats. That’s a very good point that people have been raising,” Santos told Abrams.
The ousted congressman has brought up the point himself, refusing to endorse Pilip in the race, citing her being a registered Democrat. He insisted on Tuesday that his expulsion did not have an effect on the race.
At 9:05 PM, minutes after the polls closed, Santos predicted a Suozzi loss early on after results rolled in from Nassau County, where Santos called the turnout “anemic.”
