N.Y. Gov. Hochul reveals new climate study: Hot days, more work accidents

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Gov. Kathy Hochul divulged the details of a new study that describes a correlation between scalding summer days and work accident claims. The Insurance as a Catalyst for Climate Action, a 20-page long New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) report, evaluated precisely 95,000 workers’ compensation claims submitted in the months of May, June, July, August, and September from 2017 to 2021, the report says.
