NY man sentenced for stealing over $800K from skilled gaming machines across several states

( WJET/WFXP ) — A New York man was sentenced to serve several years in prison for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from skilled gaming machines across several states.

On Monday, June 24, United States District Judge Cathy Bissoon imposed a 57-month prison sentence on 47-year-old Bronx resident Rolando Jose Pena.

According to information provided by the court, Pena, along with other unnamed co-defendants, broke into and stole cash from skilled gaming machines located throughout Pennsylvania and Virginia between April 2022 and March 2023.

Following the thefts, Pena would then transport the money back to New York.

In total, Pena and his co-defendants stole more than $800,000 from over 40 establishments.

The United States Secret Service, United States Postal Inspection Service and various other law enforcement departments throughout Pennsylvania and Virginia were commended for their involvement in the investigation that led to Pena’s prosecution.
