Dog Stolen by FedEx Driver in North Carolina, Dies From Heat

On July 3, a FedEx driver stole a dog who broke loose from her property in North Carolina. The French Bulldog was a champion dog worth more than $5,000. Unfortunately, she passed away soon after, and her remains were found a few days later on July 10. Authorities believe the pup was left in the delivery truck in the sweltering summer heat. This could have led to her overheating and eventually passing away.

The suspect in the dog-stealing case made his first court appearance on Wednesday, July 24, and was bonded out soon after. Weeks after the incident, Kimani Joehon Marshall surrendered himself on Monday, July 22. He has been charged with possession of stolen property, theft of a dog, and cruelty to animals.

The former FedEx driver stole the dog on July 3, per ABC7 News . He was reported to the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office on July 7. The canine had run out the door of her home when the pet owner had left it open by mistake. The dog owner told WRAL News that Marshall stole the pup while she was on the loose.
