Crack down on delta-8-THC gummies, but allow local tobacco sale controls: editorial

Gov. Mike DeWine is right to highlight glaring loopholes in Ohio’s regulation and oversight of what is known as delta-8-THC — a synthetic made from hemp often sold in candy form over-the-counter and packaged in bright, cartoonish packaging obviously targeting young buyers. He held up an example of delta-THC gummies during a Jan. 16 meeting with our editorial board that he said a 15-year-old had bought at a BP gas station in Clark County.
