Committee members must get off their behinds, help seniors
I have been writing to state Sen. Kristina Roegner about seniors on fixed income being taxed out of our homes. There seems to be no immediate help coming for us seniors or others on fixed incomes. I have lived in my home since the late 80s.
I am now paying almost 14% of my income for property taxes.
The senator’s office wrote me a few days ago and told me this week there is a second hearing for the new joint committee on property tax review and reform. Her office told me that this committee will be spending the entire year focused solely on how to deal with skyrocketing property tax.
Well, the wording spending the entire year tells me they do not realize how much seniors on fixed income are being hurt now by the high property tax.
Parents have every right.Opposing school boards is not ‘domestic terrorism’
One group of senators wants to freeze the home values at the current values but of course that is no help for people that are already paying more than they can afford.
