Local man becomes millionaire by way of Ohio Lottery ticket

VIENNA, Twp., Ohio (WKBN)- A local man is now going to be a millionaire from winning big on an Ohio Lottery scratch-off.

According to a press release, a man named Gary from Vienna Township scratched a Monopoly 200X scratch-off to find he won the game’s top prize of $200,000 a year for 25 years.

Gary selected the cash option prize of $2,500,000 and after mandatory state and federal tax totaling 28 percent, he will receive $1,800,000.

According to the Ohio Lottery Commission, Gary purchased his winning ticket at The Beverage Depot in Youngstown on his way home from work. He said he scratched the ticket and ran back into the place of purchase to have them scan it to confirm it was a winner.

“I thought I was having a heart attack! I was shaking so bad I didn’t know if I’d make it home,” Gary said.

Gary and his wife said that they plan to use the winnings to build a new home and invest the rest.
