A psychological thriller, the stalking of Bill and Dorothy Wacker started in 1984. For unknown reasons, over the next decade, this elderly Stark County couple endured break-ins, unusual phone calls, and threatening letters.

Dorothy was even attacked twice inside their home. The couple had no idea why they were being targeted. Today, the case remains unsolved.

Embezzler’s Plane Crash

On December 16, 1982, a plane carrying four FBI agents, a retired police officer, and admitted bank embezzler, Carl Johnson, departed the Chicago area for Cincinnati’s Lunken Field. Johnson agreed to take the agents to a secret location around Cincinnati where he buried $50,000 (he had already showed them hundreds of thousands he buried elsewhere).

Only the plane never reached its destination. After reportedly encountering altitude read-out issues, it crashed into a bookstore in Montgomery, Ohio. No one on board survived. More than 40 years later, officials still don’t know where the money was buried.
