(WKBN) – The Ohio Division of Cannabis Control issued proposed rules Tuesday for Ohio to navigate its new legal recreational marijuana law.
The rule-making process is ongoing and will take several months, but the latest proposal puts a Sept. 7, 2024, deadline for the division to issue non-medical cannabis licenses to applicants who have a medical marijuana certificate of operation or a provisional license.
The dual-use license permit allows the licensee to participate in both medical and “adult-use markets.”
A current medical marijuana licensee who wishes to participate in the non-medical cannabis market at their current location must apply for a dual-use license. There is no license fee.
Other proposals include disqualifying offenses and posting any advance notice of application periods and required information on the division’s website.
Another rule would outline new applications, who is eligible to apply and when applications must be made available according to Ohio law.
