Civil War soldiers from Ohio awarded the Medal of Honor after 160 years

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Two soldiers who fought with the Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War and were hanged during the battle, will be awarded the Medal of Honor. George Davenport Wilson enlisted in Warren County in 1861. Philip “Perry” Gephart Shadrach was born in Pennsylvania but enlisted in Jefferson County that same year.
