DeWine tests positive for COVID-19

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a release, DeWine tested positive Tuesday around 7:30 a.m. He is said to be experiencing symptoms.

“He started experiencing mild, cold-like symptoms yesterday, including sneezing and a runny nose,” said the release. “His symptoms worsened slightly during the night, but the Governor is working remotely from home today.”

With an advisement by his doctor after testing positive, DeWine says he has started Paxlovid, an anti-retroviral therapy.

On Sunday, DeWine decided to take a COVID test because he was planning to be around family for the weekend. During that test, DeWine reports that test result was negative.

According to the release, he will be working from home until the end of the week.
