Ohioans targeted in Uber scam

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) – Scammers are calling Ohio residents asking for payment for the rideshare service Uber, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office said.

The scammers are posing as deputies telling residents to pay for the service, according to officials. This is a scam happening to residents across the state, officials said.

Harrison County Sheriff Ronald Myers asks anyone who receives a call asking for money pertaining to Uber to call the Sheriff’s Office to report it.
