Bernie Moreno Sued Over 50 Times for Failing to Pay Employees, Far More Than He Claimed

COLUMBUS, OHOhio U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno is facing renewed scrutiny over his business practices after a WKYC investigation revealed that he has been sued by former employees “at least 50 times.” This number is significantly higher than the five lawsuits Moreno has publicly acknowledged during his campaign. The lawsuits against Moreno primarily involve allegations of unpaid wages, with one case noting that he deliberately destroyed evidence to avoid fulfilling his legal obligations.

A Record of Legal Troubles

Moreno, a former car dealership owner, has been involved in numerous legal battles with his former employees across several states. Contrary to his claims of being sued only five times in 15 years, court records paint a different picture. A search of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas shows 13 lawsuits against Moreno’s companies. Further searches in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, found at least 10 lawsuits against M11 Motors, LLC. Additionally, federal court records indicate multiple lawsuits involving Moreno’s various business entities, including M1 Motors Inc., M2 Motors Inc., M10 Motors Inc., and Bernie Moreno Companies, spanning Ohio, Florida, and California.
