2024 State Report Card: See the results for every Summit County school district

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce released every school district’s Report Card on Friday. The Report Card shows how districts performed on state tests, but also gives the community helpful information about key indicators that aren’t measured on a test.

How are Ohio school districts rated on their Report Card?

The state uses a system of stars, on a scale of one to five stars, to rate each district overall and in five categories. Three stars means the district is meeting the state’s expectations. One and two stars mean the district performed below expectations, and four and five stars mean the district excelled past expectations.

What are the categories on the State Report Card and what do they mean?

The five categories are achievement, progress, gap closing, graduation and early literacy. Next year, a sixth category will be added that will measure college, career, workforce and military readiness.

Achievement is a measure of all the district’s test scores, and stars are earned based on the district’s performance index . The index, which is reported as a number, is a calculation of every test score students take.
