Calling all Ohio college students: We want to hear from you.

Ohio reporters Madeline Mitchell of The Cincinnati Enquirer and Sheridan Hendrix of The Columbus Dispatch are looking into mental health trends on college campuses.

More than one-third of students reported having received psychological or mental health services in the last year, according to the American College Health Association’s spring 2024 National College Health Assessment results .

Feelings of loneliness impact 2 in 3 students at least some of the time, according to data from The Healthy Minds Network , with 27% of students often feeling isolated from others.

And 13% of college students thought about suicide in the past year, survey results show.

Colleges and universities in Ohio are working to provide more support for students experiencing mental health struggles. While mental health stigma has lessened in recent years, issues surrounding mental health and access to care still persist.
