DeWine right to urge Ohio lawmakers to adopt improved redistricting system

So, Gov. Mike DeWine wants the legislature to come up with a sensible redistricting formula (“DeWine calls for legislators to address gerrymandering,” Nov. 8). I agree. In a few hours of playing around with the maps, I was able to come up with a map for our 15 congressional districts. I assigned each of the three districts with more than the mean population — Franklin, Cuyahoga, and Hamilton counties — their own self-contained district, and distributed (split) their overage. I had to split only two additional counties — Clermont and Delaware — to get each of the 15 districts within 0.5% of the mean.
